Early Unsigned MIRIAM HASKELL. Gold Tone with Rose Montes & Pearl Pendant on Chain
Floral motif pendant constructed with gold filagree, mixed Pearls and rose montes. Note: This piece has been carefully cleaned and partially restored. Parts of the gold tone, box clasp and chain were badly coated with greenies and black patina. Used an organic paste to pull out all green and black. It’s time consuming but effective. Some of the pearls and rose montes were removed to clean the affected gold tone and rewired to its original placement. This piece is in great, near antique condition. The team of Miriam Haskell and Frank Hess began in 1926. It wasn’t until the late 1940s that Miriam Haskell’s pieces wore her name. It is believed that Haskell began marking select pieces starting in 1947. Approximately twenty years of unsigned Haskell’s are out there. The key to identifying them is craftsmanship, findings, subject matter and good old fashioned research. If you believe it to be another designer than please by all means, Please message me.
